The Fixx Hit the Road in 2026 with Special Guest The Smithereens

ans of ’80s new wave and power pop are in for a treat this summer as The Fixx have officially announced their 2026 North American tour, with select dates featuring legendary New Jersey rockers The Smithereens.

The tour was revealed on May 12 through the band’s official website and will take The Fixx across the United States and Canada beginning in July and continuing through early August. The run includes appearances in major markets including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, Dallas, Orlando, Vancouver, and more.

For longtime fans, the pairing of The Fixx and The Smithereens creates one of the most appealing double bills of the summer. Both bands helped define alternative and mainstream rock radio during the 1980s while continuing to perform for devoted audiences decades later.

Formed in London in the late 1970s, The Fixx became MTV-era favorites with hits such as “One Thing Leads to Another,” “Saved By Zero,” “Red Skies,” and “Secret Separation.” Their distinctive blend of new wave, rock, and socially conscious songwriting helped them become one of the most recognizable acts of the decade.

The Smithereens, meanwhile, built their reputation on guitar-driven power pop and rock hits including “A Girl Like You,” “Blood and Roses,” and “Only a Memory.” The current lineup continues to celebrate the band’s legacy with guest vocalist John Cowsill helping bring those classic songs to audiences nationwide.

Several tour stops will feature both bands on the same bill, including performances in Virginia, Florida, California, Washington, and British Columbia. Fans can expect an evening packed with radio staples, deep cuts, and plenty of nostalgia from two groups that remain active and relevant more than four decades after their breakthrough success.

Selected Dates Featuring The Smithereens

  • July 13 – Norfolk, Virginia
  • July 15 – Richmond, Virginia
  • July 17 – Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
  • July 18 – Orlando, Florida
  • July 30 – Los Angeles, California
  • July 31 – El Cajon, California
  • August 3 – Seattle, Washington
  • August 4 – Vancouver, British Columbia

The announcement marks another busy year for The Fixx, whose enduring catalog continues to find new audiences through streaming, film, television, and classic rock radio. With original members still delivering the band’s signature sound, the 2026 tour promises to be a celebration of one of the most influential acts to emerge from the MTV generation.

Tickets for most dates are on sale now through the band’s official website and ticketing partners.

Few bands from the new wave era have maintained the consistency and credibility of The Fixx. Pairing them with The Smithereens adds another layer of classic alternative rock history to the tour, giving fans a rare opportunity to experience two enduring acts on the same stage.

For classic rock and new wave fans, this could be one of the standout package tours of Summer 2026.
